The New Day Cross

The New Day Cross was created during a stay at Laity Lodge, a place where each new day is a constant reminder of God's presence in the world. This cross is a symbol of the hope each new day promises. The leaves represent the old growth of our yesterdays; the tendrils, springing from the base of the leaves, reach out and up to symbolize the new growth of today. The upper edge of the cross's arms form a valley representing the ebbs of life which are common to all. The sun rising over this valley signifies the start of each new Day. The bright line of metal on the inside of the sun rays symbolize the Nimbus of the Holy Spirit. God gives each of us in that new day the will to be triumphant over all our yesterdays.

    Perfect

Posted by LennieG on 29th Dec 2013

I purchased this cross for a very dear friend whose husband passed away in November. Her birthday was Dec 23rd. Knowing the holidays would be extremely difficult for her, I felt I had to do something extra special. She visited the cemetery on Dec 24th. Through tears, she asked God why he would bring this wonderful man into her life only to take him away. She prayed and begged God for a sign of hope. She opened the gift after returning from the cemetery. The true meaning of this beautiful cross was the answer to her prayers. She called me immediately, to thank me, and said she would remember this day and the hope it brings. The cross was perfect, and it could not have come at a better time for her.

    Beautiful Cross

A Jim Morris New Day Cross travels to New Jersey! My sister lives in Kerrville and gave me the Crown Celtic Cross last Christmas. I've known about Jim Morris from visits to TX, so I thought I'd treat myself to the beautiful New Day Cross. Love the enclosed history of the creation of this cross...

    Opportunities to witness

Posted by Shirley Crabtree on 20th Dec 2012

I have had this cross for several years, and it has always been an inspiration to me and also gives me an opportunity to share my faith with others. People see the cross and say, "Oh, what a beautiful cross," or "What an unusual cross..." This opens the way for me to tell the story Jim told me when I bought it. Although I have dozens of crosses, this one and The Hugger Cross are the ones I wear the most.
